Windows Updates For June 2009

It’s that time again folks to update your Windows PC system with the latest patches from Microsoft.  This month we have 7 important updates including a Definition Update for Windows Defender, a Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8, an Update Rollup for ActiveX Killbits, the latest version of the MSRT (Malicious Software Removal Tool), and 3 Security Updates that could allow unauthenticated remote attackers to compromise your system and gain control over it.

These severe updates should be installed immediately to keep your PC safe and running as smooth as it can.  Simply navigate to the Windows Update icon in your Start Menu and launch the program.  Once the online check is done, install all of the latest updates.  Better yet you should change your settings to Automatic Updates so you can minimize any threats as soon as they are available from Microsoft.

A Clean Month For Microsoft Windows Updates

Patch Tuesday for Microsoft Windows Updates surprisingly is clean without any significant security breaches or flaws this month.  I am on a schedule posting the latest updates each month the day after they are released, but to my wonderment I put it off an extra day because none were available on Tuesday, which is when Microsoft releases them every month, the second Tuesday to be exact.

The only thing we got for May is the usual Windows MSRT (Malicious Software Removal Tool) which checks your computer system for specific virus infections and prevalent malicious software such as Blaster, Sasser and many others.  This is a very welcome relief this month that their aren’t any major vulnerabilities across the Windows Operating Systems.
