Microsoft Unleashes New Search Engine Bing

Published by techspotlight at 12:05 am under Internet Edit This

Last week Microsoft launched their newest search engine named Bing.  This new engine is also touted as a “Decision Engine.”  They keep trying to make inroads in this market with dominant competitors Google and Yahoo.  Windows Live Search is now defunct and Bing is the default search engine in Windows.

On the left side of the start page for Bing is the categories Explore, Images, Videos, Shopping, News, Maps and Travel.  This allows for easy navigation when searching.  Once you type in a search query, the categories shift to the top of the page on one line.  Even with a clean and graphical look to a search engine is neat, I doubt this will be very substantial at picking up market share.

Considering this search engine has made a lot of clients I work for unable to access .co.uk addresses(you get a redirect to bing) I doubt many people will feel compelled to use it
