Canon MP190 Printer Review
A month or so ago my previous Canon printer went kaput and I was so impressed with the Canon inkjet I had, I went back to Canon for a new printer and decided on the MP190 model. This printer is an all-in-one which provides computer printing, copying and scanning. Unlike my old printer that took separate cartridges for each color, the MP190 uses a single cartridge for color and another one for black.
The MP190 is compact and stylish with superb photo and document quality with advanced copy technology. The unit is just under 20 pounds and has a nice heft to it, to make it feel like a stronger build quality than most inexpensive printers these days. It connects to the computer via the standard USB port which is 2.0 compliant.
I also enjoy the top mounted controls on this PIXMA printer. There are some nice status lights and curvaceous round buttons for doing simple tasks like copying. Paper loading is simple through the back of the unit and the front provides a nice lid that can be put in the up position when not using the printer, keeping it free from dust.
Overall the printer is excellent especially at the $75 dollar price point. The only negative I could state so far is the printer is a little loud. When starting up and doing a print job, it can be quite noisy. The design and functionality is fantastic and I would have no qualms on recommending this printer.
