Find Out If You Have Digital TV Service In Your Area

Published by techspotlight under Internet Edit This

With the looming transition of digital TV OTA (Over The Air) service in June, it is wise to check and see what channels if any are available in your area.  Digital TV signals do not travel as far as the analog counterpart, plus it is more of a line of sight technology which could pose problems to many homes.  Also analog signals degrade gracefully, which means even if you don’t have a perfect picture, you still can receive broadcasts with a little snow or lines, whereas digital is all or nothing.

To check your city and see what is available in digital broadcasts, you can visit a fantastic website called Antenna Web (www.antennaweb.org).  Simply enter your local zip code and up pops a nice map showing you what is available and how far away the towers are.  This handy online service is totally free and can let you know what TV channels you will be able to receive.
