Expected Life Span Of E-Cig Batteries

Published by techspotlight at 1:55 am under Electronic Cigarettes Edit This

Electronic Cigarettes (E-Cigs, ecigs) are powered by Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries which are basically disposable.  These batteries are rechargeable in a range of 300-500 times before becoming useless.  If you charge your e-cig batteries once a day, you should in effect get approximately 9-12 months of use before the battery will not hold a charge any longer.

One problem that can arise with e-cig batteries is that their is a switch located on the threaded end of most types.  This switch can become clogged or stuck which can also lead to a bad battery, and is usually what destroys the battery eventually.  If it wasn’t for the switch, there would be no reason not to get almost a year of performance out of the e-cig batteries, but due to the switch mechanism, you will more likely see a 3-6 month life span for all electronic cigarette batteries.

One Response to “Expected Life Span Of E-Cig Batteries”

Ha, yeah. I bought an ecig and all 3 batteries, from different vendors died after exactly 1 month. They do charge, but its the switch like you said. I hope this China factories see this because I will never buy an ecig again after losing over 150$.

Most people see death batteries in 1 month. Its really a joke. I hope someday we see a US ecig or Europe Ecig that basically kills the China ecigs or at least forces them to improve quality. Its a total scam as far as I see. I was very dissapointed. I expected batteries to last 3 months on heavy use at least. Nope. 1 month. All 3 died. I was so, so angry. Thats why they give a 30 days guarantee. Why dont they give a 60 days guarantee? Because they all die after a little more then a month. Most electronic products have 1 year guarantee and all ecigs have 1 month. Thats must flag an alert on their quality. China=Cheap Crap. Thats their whole business strategy, sell cheap, but you have to buy a replacement every 1 month or so. Just like cart parts, China auto parts last 3 months with luck and you have to replace them. Its their whole business idea. They sell it very cheap but you get the worst possible quality. In the case of ecigs the joke is that they are not cheap. Batteries from China directly from factory already costs 15$ each. They are making millions cheating and scamming people. Because im sorry, but I say its a scam. In their advertising they never say batteries die after 1 month.
