Browser War: IE Verse Firefox
Up until Firefox made an imprint on the web browser scene, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer was so dominant that the only choice was IE. Jump ahead to today and users have a few options including Chrome, Opera and Safari. These 5 Internet browsers hold the vast majority of the market share.
Since Mozilla’s Firefox has become a clear choice for many people, Microsoft has put many efforts in their newly released IE version, in an attempt to attract back users who have moved on to one of the free browsers. Only time will tell how much market share gets depleted from Internet Explorer, but one thing is for sure, IE is losing ground and if the trend continues, I could foresee someday within the next decade that the dominance of IE will be a thing of the past.
The actual figures and data are provided by Global Market Share Statistics and their website can be viewed here.
