Open Files And Folders With A Single Mouse Click

Published by techspotlight at 12:05 am under Windows Vista Edit This

Inside Windows all files and folders require a double click to open or run except the quick launch programs you put on the task bar.  Well you can actually change this so that files and folders no matter where they are located can be opened, run or launched by using a single left mouse click.  Follow the below steps to accomplish this nice little tip.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Open the Folder Options.
  3. Under the “General” tab, select the radio button “Single-click to open an item (point to select).”
  4. Click on OK.

Hovering over an item with the mouse will now highlight it, and all that is needed is a single click to open up the file or folder anywhere within the Operating System.

I’ve got so used to double clicking I don’t think I could change now. Although it is quite difficult to get used to double clicking at first, I suppose.
