ActiveX And IE Security Updates For This Month
Patch Tuesday Windows Updates should be a regular stopping point for all users. The second Tuesday of every month Microsoft releases updates, fixes, patches, addons and additional software for their Operating Systems. The last few months there hasn’t been many security flaws and I hope this trend continues.
We got 2 major security updates to download and install through Windows Update. The first one is an Internet Explorer cumulative security update that fixes a bug that could allow an attacker to gain control of your computer system. The second one is with ActiveX Killbits control that could allow an attacker to compromise your system.
On the software front if you are using Media Center that is built-in to Windows Vista, there is a patch to fix the Media Center software that causes intermittent crashes while recording, if you are using MCE. Overall, very small updates, but still must be applied to keep your system running smoothly.
