Rename Files Quickly With Windows Vista

Windows Vista offers many time saving features that makes it quicker for users to get things done.  One feature I use very often is the new way to quickly rename a bunch of files in a single folder.  The process to do this is extremely easy and in no time you will get the hang of it and use this faster renaming process very frequently.

Open the folder where you want to rename the files.  Right click on the first file and select “Rename.”  Type in the new name of the file and instead of hitting the ENTER key, hit the TAB key.  This will now jump to the next file so you can rename that one.  You can hit TAB repeatedly to jump through the list very quickly and rename all of the files or only the ones you want to rename.
