An outside or public IP Address is how your computer communicates with websites so you can get the information you requested. There could be many reasons that you would want to know your IP Address, for example, PC gaming. Many games allow you to connect directly with a friend and you must know your IP Address to do this.
Every Operating System is different on how to locate and see your public IP Address through the Network Control Panel, and this usually requires many, many clicks. The absolute easiest way to find out your IP Address is to visit www.whatismyip.com. Simply click on that link and you will immediately know your public IP. I recommend bookmarking that site so you will always have it at your fingerprints when you need to know your IP Address.

They provide which IP address you are coming from, including whether it is IPv4 or IPv6 Slowly, I’m trying to move more stuff over to IPv6
