It is now coming down to the wire for Microsoft’s newest OS Windows 7.  The Beta version has been released to developers and manufacturers, and it is expected to be released publicly for all to get their hands on it sometime in January of 2009.  The Windows 7 version released at PDC was a pre-beta named M3 (Milestone 3) and their have be a few subsequent minor builds in between that and the upcoming public Beta version.  It is presumed that this will be the only Beta version for Windows 7.  After a few months a RC (Release Candidate) version will be released and then a few months after that the RTM (Release To Manufacturing or Gold Version, Final) version.  It is still unknown when Windows 7 will be completed, but I assume it will be sometime in the Summer of 2009.
