Just a few days ago Microsoft surprised its user base with an update to the Zune firmware and software.  The current version now available is 3.1.  Not much has changed with the update, but Microsoft did release three new games for the device including Checkers, Space Battle and Sudoku.

 Version 3.0 of the software was the first time games were even available on the Zune and it shipped with 2 games including Hexis and Texas Hold ‘Em.  Now the Zune MP3 Player has a total of 5 games for its customers which is very nice and was truly an unexpected prize.  It’s nice to know that Microsoft is still trying to impress its wide range of users, and is also trying to adopt or take away Apple’s iPod vast market share that is so dominant.
