How To Auto Hide The Windows Task Bar

Published by techspotlight at 12:05 am under Windows Vista Edit This

The Windows Task Bar is the bolt and suspenders of this mainstream OS.  It is where most everything is launched and opened during your daily computer experience.  You may find that you would like to have move screen real estate and this can be accomplished by auto hiding the Task Bar when it is not in focus.  Follow the simple steps below to have a clean and open display area.

  1. Right click on any open area of the Taskbar and select “Properties.”
  2. Make sure the Taskbar Tab is selected and put a check mark on the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option.
  3. Click OK.

These three simple steps will make the Windows Task Bar disappear when your mouse cursor is not in the area.  To show the Taskbar at anytime simply hover your mouse in the general area and up pops the Taskbar.  Small tips like these can really make your computing easier.
