Move The Windows Task Bar To Any Screen Edge

Published by techspotlight at 12:05 am under Windows Vista Edit This

Ever since the beginning of the Windows Operating System the Task Bar has resided at the bottom of the screen.  With Windows Vista you can move the Task Bar to any side of the screen, even to another monitor’s screen if you use more than one.  Moving the Task Bar can be done in two simple steps.

  1. Right click the Task Bar and ensure that the item “Lock the Taskbar” is unchecked.
  2. Point to a blank spot on the Task Bar and hold down the left mouse button while dragging it to the side of the Desktop you want it.

This simple tweak allows you to customize the look and feel of the Desktop to your own personal taste.

this works in xp and 2000, and it wouldn’t surprise me is it does in 98 or even 95 as well.

Yes, it’s been around for awhile, but not many people move it, and also new users are unaware of how to drag it around.
