Windows Live Messenger 9 Beta Available
Microsoft’s Live services and software are starting to come to life. With there new Live Mesh website which supposedely will be a platform that will connect local services with the cloud.
Microsoft released a slew of new software Betas, one of them being Windows Live Messenger 9. On first look you will immediately notice a huge change in the user interface. An aero-style messenger box with translucency’s, and many different color schemes and backgrounds available for the tweaking. It’s pretty obvious they are ramping up the graphics with a Vista style flavor.
Tabs along the left side are now gone and small icon buttons are located on the bottom of the window. More detail options are now available with the user choice of 4 different thumbnail picture sizes. A new feature called Signature Sound is pretty cool. You can set your own personal sound or music that will play on your friend’s computer when you sign in to Live Messenger. Very sweet!
All in all I would say it is a vast improvement over previous versions of Live Messenger. While version 9 is still in Beta, I think it is pretty close to being finalized. To try out the Beta version of Windows Live Messenger 9 click here.
