1000 Watt Power Supplies

Published by techspotlight at 12:05 am under Hardware Edit This

Power Supplies are often overlooked when building a computer.  A small wattage Power Supply can actually cause a computer to have problems.  If the components inside the computer are not given appropriate power then it can often cause malfunctions.  Most computer manufacturers include a cheaply made, low voltage power supply that can often fail when you start to upgrade internal parts, thus the need for a larger power supply.

For the most part a 500-700 watt power supply should accommodate the majority of users.  The need for 1000 watt is limited to high end computer enthusiasts that like to run multiple video cards (SLI or Crossfire) and have many internal hard drives installed.

Manufacturers of 1000 watt power supplies include Sigma, Cooler Master, OCZ, Antec, Zalman, Silverstone, Corsair, Enermax, Thermaltake, Kingwin and a few others.  The prices range from $150-$300 depending on the model and features.  For individual pricing and specifications click here.
