iPhone: Enough Is Enough

Published by techspotlight at 12:05 am under Apple Edit This

Almost a year before Apple released their first generation iPhone in 2007, the hype had already begun.  When it was getting close to launch to the public, the fanaticism that shrouded this phone was insane.  It was everywhere, on the radio, television and web.  You couldn’t escape the blather and rave reviews from any source.

Jump ahead to the present day and the release of the second generation iPhone and it all started again.  People waiting in long lines just to get the new iPhone, that’s supposed to be so much better.

The over $2,000 phone for a 2 year period with 2 hours battery life and a phone that crashes frequently, still gets so much attention is getting really annoying.  While I realize the iPhone has innovative features, it is still just a phone that plays music and videos, by the way, nothing new there.

I will stick to my cheap Nokia phone that cost $39, doesn’t crash, always works, sends email when I want it to and lasts me a week without a charge.  Let’s put the iPhone chatter to rest now, it is long overdue.

You are just jealous! The iPhone doesn’t have 2 hours of battery life, it doesn’t crash all the time and is not that expensive (you are counting the total costs of the use of the whole thing, including phone bills. Even you have phone bills. So your $39 nokia is a $1500 nokia in comparison to the calculation you did for the iPhone).

No sir, not jealous at all, and my $39 Nokia only costs $700 over 2 years. You must include the total cost because Apple and AT&T lock you in. It is a very unreliable phone and yes you do only get 2 hours battery life if you use the “features” of the phone like Wi-Fi and 3G. Anyways I won’t fall victim to the hype of an overpriced product, and the arrogance of a corporation that likes to overcharge it customers.

zd, this is exactly what I mean, Apple fan boys that defend products in a nutty fashion.

Goog points DJ. The point of the post was to stop all the talk about the iPhone. It gets annoying. Its a phone fella’s come on. There’s much more important things to talk about than a phone day after day, month after month, year after year.

Yes I have played with the iPhone DJ. Its a “cool” device, but I would never buy it. It does have many good features, but for a phone, I dont want that uncomfortable thing next to my ear. I also want a phone that you can replace the battery. iTouch I have many times. I personally hate touch screen interfaces, it’s nothing new, been around for decades. Personally, in MP3 Players I like the Creatives. Codecs built in, drag-n-drop features, the look of the device IMO is the least of my worries.

    Thanks for the comments all!
