5 Windows Vista Tips
I have compiled a list of 5 very useful tips for Windows Vista. I hope these will be helpful and make your computing more enjoyable. If you have any of your own, submit them through the comments section at the bottom of the page to let the world know.
View Hidden Menus
Windows Vista applications and folders hide their menu systems by default. You can temporarily enable these menus by hitting the ALT key and the menu will appear so you can access the options you need.
Faster File Renaming
If you have multiple files in a folder and would like to rename each one, simply tap the TAB key when you’re done instead of the ENTER key. When you do so, you’ll begin renaming the next file in the folder. Hit TAB repeatedly to jump through all the files in the current folder.
Use A Single Click For Opening Files And Folders
Go to the Control Panel and open the Folder Options. Select the “Single-click to open an item (point to select)” by clicking on the round button, then select OK. Now when you hover over a file or folder it will be highlighted and a single mouse click will be all that is needed to open the program or folder.
Resizing Desktop Icons
Make sure the desktop is active and hold down the CTRL key and start scrolling with your mouse’s scroll wheel. Windows Vista is capable of displaying 28 different icon sizes.
Stop Removable Media From Auto-playing
Holding down the SHIFT key while inserting a CD, DVD or USB Flash Drive will stop the auto-play feature from starting.
